Aloha, I’m Dr. Anya Vierra!

I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation and recovery for both women and men.

I help individuals dealing with urinary leakage, urgency and retention, bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, prolapse, sexual health concerns, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, pre/post hernia repair, and orthopedic issues connected to the pelvic floor. I also work with runners, weightlifters, dancers, CrossFit athletes, and active individuals who want to stay strong, confident, and active without pain or pelvic floor symptoms holding them back.

My approach blends pelvic floor physical therapy, strength and conditioning, movement analysis, and hands-on care to help people feel stronger, safer, and more connected to their bodies.

I believe pelvic floor issues can feel isolating and overwhelming, but they are treatable, and you deserve compassionate, individualized care from someone that truly listens to your goals.

I work with patients in person on Maui for pelvic floor physical therapy and online for those outside of the island.

Dr. Anya’s Credentials and Background

I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University and began specializing in pelvic health during my doctoral training after seeing firsthand how difficult it can be for people to access quality pelvic healthcare in underserved communities.

I completed advanced pelvic health training while working in women’s health settings and rural communities in California where specialty care was limited, which gave me experience treating a wide variety of pelvic floor conditions across all genders and ages. After moving back to Maui in 2022, I also recognized that male pelvic health care was severely lacking on island, which led me to pursue additional education and advanced training in male pelvic health to help fill that gap in care for our community.

Over the years, I’ve continued advanced training in pelvic pain, bowel and bladder dysfunction, pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation, birth preparation, prolapse, sexual health concerns, athletic performance, male pelvic health, and return-to-sport rehabilitation.

I’m especially passionate about helping active individuals at every stage of life overcome pelvic floor dysfunction so they can move confidently, stay active, and improve their long-term quality of life.

Anya’s Approach

I myself have dealt with pelvic floor issues, specifically pelvic pain and urinary urgency. I know what it’s like to feel vulnerable, fearful, and unheard by medical professionals. I made it my mission to ensure all people feel like the leader of their care team, while I take a supportive and guiding role where it’s needed.

Feel Heard

The basic medical model does not allow providers to hear their clients and listen to their story.

YOU hired me.

I am here for YOU.

I take the time to listen, not rush you to tell your story, and meet you where your comfort level is when treating such a vulnerable region.

Have Time

One on one physical therapy is almost unheard of now a days.

NOT HERE.

I strive to help create focused rehab and coaching programs guided towards your goals, your body, and where you are at in your recovery. We will have the time to progress your programs, for you to ask questions, and to veer as needed with the punches that life sometimes gives.
